Home Automation control
With Domintell Remote, have your whole house at your finger tips.
Domintell Remote gives you the power to control your Domintell installation from your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
Its flexible user interface allows you to organize your control as you see fit. Trigger sfers, raise and lower lights or blinds, group per rooms, person or scenario, the decision is up to you.
Domintell Remote is available for 79.99 € on the Apple App Store.
Requirements
Domintell Remote requires a DETH02 module. It has been tested with v1.18 of the software but should work with any recent version.
Domintell Remote controls the Domintell system through its IP interface. The DETH02 module must be connected to your LAN and the iPhone / iPod touch / iPad must be able to access it.
Domintell system configuration
Before you can use Domintell Remote, you need to ensure things are correctly set-up on the Domintell side.
Make sure the DETH02 module is part of your configuration and has a valid IP address.
Getting started

The first time you start Domintell Remote, it does not know anything about your installation.
Your first step is to go into the Settings screen and enter the IP address (and password if you’re using authentication) of the DETH02 module you’ll be using to connect to the system.
To access the Settings scree, dismiss the connection panel and click on the Settings icon (the 2 gears) in the tool bar.

Enter the IP address or hostname of the DETH02 module in the “Processor IP” field.
If you enabled authentication on the DETH02, also enter the password used.
Once done, click on the “Refresh system configuration” button.
This will establish a connection with your Domintell system and retrieve the configuration of all modules and spheres defined.
General overview

The philosophy of the Domintell Remote application is to let you define a user interface that suits your mobile needs and that can be completely independent of the main system.
You define this interface using several elements: group, button, raise/lower, slider and temperature control.
The main screen of Domintell Remote shows you those elements organized in a hierarchical way.
For groups, tapping the group will drill down and show you the content of this group.
Tapping the Home button brings you to the top page in the groups hierarchy.
The color of the navigation bar indicates the connection status with the Domintell system: green when the application is connected, red when it is not connected and blue when it is currently trying to connect to the Domintell system.
Controlling temperature

For temperatures, the icon for the current mode and the current temperature are displayed on the main UI, taping the disclosure button brings you to the temperature details screen.
The middle section displays the currently active temperature mode and allows you to change this mode.
At the bottom, if the current mode allows it, use the arrows to change the currently active set point.
Adding a group

A group simply allows you to group together elements you want to appear on one screen, give it a distinct name and associate a picture with it. Groups can include other groups, yielding to a hierarchical structure.
A group can be used for any purpose: group controls by room, name it after a person to have a personalized interface, create a group for controls used in the morning or the evening, the choice is up to you.
To add an element, tap the + sign on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
An action sheet displays, allowing you to choose the type of element you want to add.

In this case, select ‘Add group’.
Give the group a descriptive name. This can be a room, a person name or anything that fits your organisation.
For additional convenience, you can also add a picture to the group, that will be shown as a thumbnail in the list. Tapping on the ‘Add picture’ button brings up your photo library. Just pick an image you like from there.
Although the application lets you use an empty group name or create multiple groups with the same name, this should be avoided.
Adding a button

A button simply allows you to trigger an action in your Domintell system.
It can be associated with several types of modules and its behavior will be slightly different based on the type of module it is associated with.
For on/off types of module (e.g. DBIR01), tapping the button will toggle between the on and off state and a LED is displayed on the button to indicate the current state.
For dimmer types, tapping the button will toggle between full on and full off and an LEDis displayed on the button to indicate the current state (anything other than 0% shows as on).
For spheres, tapping the button will recall the sphere.
For keypads and ISM modules, this will simulate a short/long press on that button and execute whatever action is assigned to that button in the Domintell program.

Simply give a descriptive name to the button and tap on the Module entry to associate a “module element” with this button.
This shows a list of all the module elements and spheres found in your system. The list is ordered by module name, the address is given between square brackets and the icon in front indicates the module type.
Entering a text in the Search box at the top will filter down the list to elements whose name or location contains the entered text.
If you select an element before giving the button a name, the button uses the module element name.
Adding a raise/lower

A raise/lower allows to raise or lower the value of a dimmer element.
The way to define it is identical to the button, except that the list of module elements presented only contains dimmer type modules (DDIM01, DOUT10V02)
Adding a slider

A slider allows direct control of the value of a dimmer element.
The way to define it is identical to the button, except that the list of module elements presented only contains dimmer type modules (DDIM01, DOUT10V02)
Adding a temperature control

A temperature control displays and allows control of a temperature sensor element.
The way to define it is identical to the button, except that the list of module elements presented only contains module types with a temperature sensor on-board (DTSC0x, DTEM01, DTEM02, DLCD03, DPBTLCD0x)
Settings

The IP & Port fields allow definition of the connection configuration to the DETH02 interface of your Domintell system.
Note that the IP field supports both IPv4 addresses and host names.
In addition, if you set a password on the DTH02 interface, you should enter it here in the Password field.
Setting the “Stay connected” switch to ON ensures that a connection to the Domintell system is kept open all the time the application is running. This means you’ll receive immediate feedback from the Domintell system. When set to off, the application will close the connection after a period of inactivity, at which point no feedback from the system is received. As soon as you’ll take an action or tap the refresh button in the main toolbar, the connection is re-opened and the status of the application is refreshed.
The “Support only” section contains options only to be used if instructed so by Domintell Remote support and should not otherwise be used.
Finally, taping on the “Refresh system configuration” button will connect to the Domintell system and check for update on the list of known modules and spheres.
If a difference is found, the application gives you the choice of staying with your old configuration or updating. Be careful that if you choose to update, all UI elements that referred to a module that does not exist anymore will be deleted.
Upgrade
When upgrading to a new version, it is necessary to go to the Settings page and refresh the system configuration in order for the new module types to be recognized by the application.
